Introduction

The security in water, food and energy sectors is the fundamental requirement to human life and the development of a society. The water, food and energy security nexus means that these three sectors are closely liked, and that actions in one area more often than not have impacts on one or both of the others.

Furthermore, the rapid economic growth together with a quick wave of urbanization in Asia has caused huge and visible pressure on infrastructure, particularly the urban infrastructure. Infrastructure such as energy, transport and water is improving, but has not been able to cope with the needs that have been created. All these turn out to be challenges that would have to be addressed properly and urgently.

On the first day of the workshop, knowledge on the water-food-energy security nexus will be shared. On the second day of the workshop, the theory and methodology for the development of AWDO III will be discussed.

水、食物、能源安全是人類生活和社會發展的基本需求。水、食物、能源三個部門緊密相連，在一個部門的行為大多會影響到其他部門。

近來，亞洲高速經濟發展和城市化進程已經給基礎設施，尤其是城市基礎設施帶來了巨大的壓力。像能源、運輸、水等部門的基礎設施有所提升，但還是不能滿足現在發展的需求。所有這些問題現在都是我們要緊急面對的挑戰性問題。

研讨會的第一天水、食物、能源綜合議題将被讨論，第二天主要探讨第三版亞洲水發展展望的方法論。
